Abstract

Advanced oxidation processes is also called as photo Fenton process. These process is one of the advanced and most effective treatment methods for industrial waste water especially containing organic products (effluents from chemical and agrochemical industries, the textile industry, paints, dyes, etc.). Fenton process is a one of advanced oxidation process. The leachate was characterized by high COD, low biodegradability and intense dark color. In the present study, the laboratory scale batch experiments were performed to analyze the COD reduction of in textile waste water three different composition of wastewater samples by using Fenton Process. In order to find out the most favorable chemical dosage at predetermined optimum pH 2.0, 7.0 and 9.0, H2O2 and FeSO4 dosage varied between 2.5, 5.0, 10.0, 15.0, 20.0, 25.0 g/L. Various amounts of H2O2 were taken in order to optimize the COD reduction. From the finding of the study proposed that, acidic media is the suitable condition for the maximum removal of COD and color strength of textile dye effluents. Hence, ETP personal/department can be effectively adapt this method in their sights.
