Abstract

There is a serious difference between scholars regarding the derivation and meaningful development of the word 'fast' .1 Here very briefly their details are being presented. In 'St. Petersburg Kosh' the origin of 'vrat' is derived from 'vrv' (growth, selection, selection), and the important meaning of the word in that dictionary is as follows (1) Resolution, order, Method, specified system; (2) Vishta, obedience, service; (3) Ownership or Rewards; (4) arrangement, prescribed inheritance, area; (5) instinct, business, ethical karma, engagement in tendency, ethics or custom; (6) Religious work, worship, duties; (7) No ritual, religious or penance-related karma or conduct-consumption, resolution, punitive action; (8) Normally for resolution, fixed; (9) Other specific meanings Maximuller has derived its derivation from 'tree', which means 'protect', and it has been speculated that its initial meaning was in this sense, which we take in the meaning of the protective, protected, separately protected, It means that the decree, the definite, law (law) legislation and re-time has developed into the meaning of 'the occupation or power.'
