Radiation Pattern Reconfigurable Antenna for WBAN and WLAN Applications

Dhinakaran In this paper, a reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna with parasitic arms for controlling the direction of the radiated beam for wireless body area network (WBAN) and wireless local area network (WLAN) is presented. The realized gain of the antenna changes from 1.93dB (off-body mode) to 1.4 dB (on-body) mode. The operating frequency band centered at 2.45 GHz frequency remains unaltered with a bandwidth of 80 MHz.
