Importance of Eldest Son in Ancient Times
Authors(1) :-Subhash Kumar The elder brother used to have the eldest dress till then the family was prosperous and on the path of progress. The kings used to appoint their brothers to high positions. Even at the present time, there is still a provision to assign a special number to the eldest son. According to Manu, if the elder brother does not give the younger brothers their due for greed then he does not get his special part "salvation" and is punished by the king.
