Synthesis and Structural Characterization of Nickel Oxide-Polyaniline Nanocomposite
Authors(3) :-A. I. Nandapure, B. I. Nandapure, S. B. Kondawar Nickel oxide polyaniline nanocomposite (NiO-PANI) was synthesized by in situ polymerization technique in sulphuric acid medium with ammonium persulphate as an oxidizing agent in the presence of synthesized nanoparticles NiO as reinforcing filler so as to study the effect of filler nanoparticles on the properties of the conducting polyaniline. The synthesized nanocomposite was characterized by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultraviolet visible spectroscopy (UV). TEM pattern shows uniform NiO-PANI nanoparticles having diameter 20nm. FTIR spectroscopy shows that NiO nanoparticles get electrostatically bound to the specific sites of polyaniline. UV- visible spectroscopy shows that coating of NiO nanoparticles on PANI backbone.
