Abstract

Urbanization is the process that brings about dynamic change in the domicile format. This change basically happens in the population, size, structure and working area. If you look at the perspective of India, the process of urbanization is considered in the Indian society since ancient times, whose information meets us with the Indus Valley Civilization. The cities of Sindhu civilization like Harappa, Mohanjodaro, Dholavira etc. were famous for their excellent city planning and drainage system. The Indus Valley Civilization is also called the first urban civilization. In other cities, Mithila, Hastinapur, Mathura, Kaushambi, Pataliputra, Kushinagar etc. are also important places. E. P. VI, VI and VIII are respectively seen as second urbanization.
