Abstract

On reviewing Bhavabhuti's plays from theatrical art, they remain of an advanced category, all the elements of drama come under theatrical art, such as plot, characters, stories, storytelling etc. As far as the plot is concerned, the scope of Bhavabhuti is limited. The story of the two plays is related to the narrative of Sri Ramchandra, and the love story of Maltimaghava is based on the folklore. It was necessary for Bhavabhuti to follow the prevailing tradition in the arrangement of the plot of the plays based on Ramcharit. Along with following the tradition, Bhavabhuti has also invested proper originality, the meeting of Sita Ram at the end of Uttara Ramcharit is also a novelty. Its purpose is to make the play enjoyable.
