Abstract

The problem statement is to study the relationship between total mental health and youth problems among undergraduate male students. Correlational method of descriptive research has been used in the study. As a sample, 300 male students studying in the undergraduate classes of colleges affiliated to Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, located in Jaunpur district, have been selected by multi-level sampling method in the following manner. As an instrument, Mental Health Battery (MHB) developed by AK Singh and AS Gupta and Youth Problem Inventory (YPI) developed by S Verma. Product moment correlation technique is being used to test the null hypotheses formulated after data collection and computation. The findings of the study found that autonomy, security-insecurity, self-esteem, intelligence and overall mental health of undergraduate male students were not related to their family problems, school/college problems, social problems and personal problems and hypersensitivity which The reason may be that undergraduate male students may respond similarly to stimuli related to autonomy, security-insecurity, self-esteem, intelligence and overall mental health and their family, school/college, social problems and personal problems and hypersensitivity.
