Abstract

Environment is the basic life truth of the universe. There is a wonderful balance in nature, this balance is called environment. Environment in many broad sense is the physical covering around living beings which affects their life-prolongation and is itself influenced by their activities. It includes earth, water, air and all those factors which affect the life of an organism in any way. Nature and man are complementary to each other, man has gained a lot from nature. Environment plays an important role in the growth, development and survival of human life. All human activities are directly or indirectly related to the environment. Human beings do not exist apart from the vegetation and life-animals that grow on this surface. The physical body of the human being is made up of five elements namely earth, water, sky, fire and air. Which in Hindu theology has been given the name of Panchmahabhuta. Perfect harmony among them is indispensable not only for human beings but for the entire life-world.
