Abstract
From time immemorial, the commodities of purchase and sale were weighed according to certain measurements and then its fixed prices were assumed. In the Vedic era there was a system of weighing on an assured basis. It is known from the Rig Veda that the deal was confirmed after the price was paid. The value of the goods was paid. This is highlighted by the Samhita and Brahmin texts. Ashtaprud (possibly Ashtapurusha) was marked with 8 bundkis. The weighing of 200 rattis was called
