Determination of Religion : Against the Background of Vedas, Upanishads and Certain Scriptures

Abstract
According to Vedas and contemporary Indian thinkers in the first chapter of the research thesis presented, an attempt has been made to shed light on the nature of 'Dharma' and the definition of 'Dharma'. There are plans to study the concept of 'Dharma' mentioned in the Gita and Ramcharitmanas respectively. Before studying the concept of 'Dharmak' mentioned in the Gita and Ramcharitmanas, it is necessary to know in what sense the use of 'Dharma' in Indian culture is mainly. In this case it is desired to give a brief introduction to the concept of religion mentioned in Vedas, Upanishads, Dharmashastra or Smriti, Valmiki Ramayana, Mahabharata Puranadi. Thus, in order to give a definition of religion, the main elements of 'Dharma' mentioned in the above texts have been discussed, but the concept of 'Dharma' described in these scriptures will be studied.
