Abstract

The emergence of the religion of Islam is considered to be the latter half of the sixth century. Vinoba has given two meanings to Islam - one is peace and the other is bhagavata-asylum. In the word Islam, salam is a metal which means to go to the shelter. This is the word salute meaning peace. It means that peace will be found in the shelter of God. Jamali Saheb has literally described Islam as a human surrender to God (Allah).
