Social status and adjustment of the elderly and family interrelationships and nutritional status: a study

Abstract
Indian social system has been based on caste system since Vedic times. This caste system itself determines the social status of a person. According to the ancient caste system, society is divided into four castes. Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and Shudras. The modern Indian constitution also did not abolish it, but changed its four characters into three classes, they are classes - upper class, middle class and lower class.
