Historical Study of Colonial Bihar and Disasters

Abstract
In the year 1858, the rule of the East India Company ends in India and the direct rule of the "British Crown" begins. The province of Bengal (including Bihar, Orissa) now falls directly under the rule of the British Crown. In 1858, the power had definitely changed, but the havoc of disasters was still going on. The change had come only in the fact that some positive initiatives for the control and prevention of disasters were started during the rule of the "British Crown" as compared to the Company rule.
