Women in the Democratic Politics of Bihar : A Question Mark on Gender Justice

Abstract
In post-independence India, the Gandhian ideology was replaced by the Nehruvian ideology in the field of education. Where Gandhi was full of mistrust towards modernization; He was in favor of testing it out and was also in favor of a very basic level of education which is close to the cultural roots of the country, imparting skills and conforming to the context. At the same time, Nehru saw education as a unit to pave the way for development and modernization. He was greatly influenced by its modern westernized form. But the irony is that after independence, India's main goals were industrialization and defense schemes. The expansion of education did not get the priority that was being talked about and many of the government's efforts which were later done in this area were also less effective in bringing changes and more effective in increasing discrimination. This happened due to lack of foresight and enthusiasm.
