Abstract

To understand and evaluate the social policy of the British East India Company and to know its impact on the society at large, one must first understand the broader purpose of that policy and its information. There was a direct correlation between the creation of local knowledge and social policy. Knowing how colonial knowledge was established has been an important subject for historians.
