The Strategic Roles of Islamic Religious Education Teachers in Counteracting Radicalism in Indonesia

This study analyzed the strategic role of Islamic religious education teachers in counteracting radicalism. The researcher was in carrying out research used the library research method. In this type of research method, the researcher collected data through various reference books and previous research results. Meanwhile, in analyzing data, as in qualitative research in general, the researcher analyzed the data from the research process to the research results. The study results explained that one of the institutions that played a role in counteracting radicalism was educational institutions. Educational institutions are at the forefront of eradicating radical ideas by maximizing the role of teachers. There are at least five strategic roles for Islamic religious education teachers in counteracting radicalism, namely the role of professionally, the role of individually, the role of the institution, the role of the community, and the role of ideology.
