Study of Academic Stress and Mental Health of Learners Studying at Higher Secondary Level

Abstract

Summary - Presented research was done on 960 students (480 boys and 480 girls) of Arts and Science section of UP Board and CBSE Board of Agra Division. In this research, the correlation between mental health and mental stress of the learners was studied. Visht Battery of Stress Scale (Thai) developed by Dr. Abha Rani Visht and standardized and developed by Dr. Arun Kumar Singh and Dr. Alpana Sen Gupta for measurement of academic stress for collection of data related to academic stress and mental health of learners. was put into use. Considering the nature of the data, mean, standard deviation, correlation and 't' test were used for the analysis. The results of the present research revealed that there is a significant difference (at 0.05 level) in the mental health and educational stress of the learners, that is, educational stress affects mental health.
