Abstract

To do a comparative study of the personality traits of trainees trained in self-financed and aided teacher training institutes. In the study, "survey method" has been used under descriptive research. In the present study, the population of B.Ed trainees undergoing training in teacher training institutes of Prayagraj district has been considered as population. As a sample, 4 teacher training institutes were selected by lottery method, after which 150 B.Ed trainees (75 self-financed and 75 subsidized) trained therein were selected randomly. As a tool, 'Personality Component Scale' prepared by Dr. Mahesh Bhargava has been used. The mean, standard deviation, standard error and t-ratio statistical method were used to analyze the data. In the study, it was found that the degree of depression was found in the trainees of self-financed teacher training institute to be higher than that of the trainees of the aided teacher training institute. The high degree of depression found in trainees of self-financed teacher training institutes indicates that in self-financed teacher training institutes, along with high fees, funds to be taken for other items and lack of high level teachers for training and resources. The problems faced by them in their training due to non-availability of education may be the reason for the increase in their depression. Also, finding similarity in other components and personality indicates that both teachers are getting training, so they have the same goal in which they have to become a skilled and high personality teacher, hence both types of teacher training. The trainees of the institutes may equally pay attention to their personality.
