Abstract

Chhattisgarh state is continuously moving towards targeted public distribution system and food security, as well as it is the first state in India to give food security scheme. After the implementation of the Food Security Act 2012 in the state, Chhattisgarh has emerged out of poverty, because the supply of all three basic needs (housing, clothing and food) of human beings is a widespread issue. Due to the low economic condition, it is very difficult to fulfill these three tasks at present, yet a small effort has been made by the government. With this step of the government, if the burden of any one of the basic necessities is reduced, then the economic development and standard of living of poor families can be seen. To create awareness among the people about food security, awareness has come from time to time by the government, through the use of means like television and radio as well as internet, the quantity and quantity of materials to be distributed for food security and public distribution system. Due to the proper implementation of this scheme with transparency in quality, poverty in the lower class has been relatively reduced and the economic level has improved. At present, a new path of food security and women's empowerment has been paved in Chhattisgarh due to continuous improvement in the number of government fair price shops, functioning, difference in operators (eg- Self Help Groups, Forest Protection Groups, Co-operative Societies etc.)
