Study of Economic and Social Status of Women Engaged in Cottage Industry (Comparative Study of Durg And Dhamdha Block of Durg District of Chhattisgarh)

Present research paper Two major development blocks Durg and Dhamdha have been selected under Durg district of Chhattisgarh state. In this research paper, an attempt has been made to know the economic and social status of women engaged in cottage industry, women empowerment, self reliance etc. In this a total of 400 respondents (urban-rural 200-200) have been selected. The age of all the selected respondents is between 18 to 50 years. Interview schedule and observation method have been used for collection of primary data. Based on the obtained data and facts, mainly in the form of conclusion, most of the respondents are educated, but business knowledge is negligible; At the same time, the information about various beneficial schemes of the government is low, yet women are doing work according to their capacity, which is increasing self-reliance and women empowerment.
