Abstract

The modern period of the history of Hindi literature is known as "Gadhkal". Prior to this, poetry has been the predominant possession in the Adikal, Bhaktikal, and Ritikaal. Hindi Gadh has evolved in modern times with many forms. Essay is the most powerful genre in Hindi literature. It is also well known that the third phase of Hindi essay has been called Shukla Yuga. Shukla era is the golden age of development of Hindi essay. Acharya Ramchandra Shukla (1920-1950 AD) and the essayists of his circle made all-round development of Hindi essay literature. Among the essay writers of this circle, the name of Shri Babu Gulabrai is a symbol of versatility. Literary writer Gulab Rai, while criticizing essays, poetry, philosophy, embellished many genres of donkey with his talent. There is a unique impression of his personality in the essays of Gulabrai ji.
