Synthesis of Cr3+ Co-Substituted Nickel Ferrite Nanoparticles from Sol-gel Method

Abstract

The structural and magnetic properties of the Cr3+ co-substituted cubic spinel ferrite series NiCrxFe2-xO4(x=0.0 to 0.6) were synthesized through a sol-gel auto-combustion method and was characterized by means of x-ray powder diffraction. Lattice constants determined from x-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements exhibit a decrease with increasing Cr3+ions in the Nickel ferrite system. X- ray density of each peak (for x=0.0 to 0.6) was calculated using XRD data.
