Abstract

This paper proposes a new topology of an adaptive Neuro fuzzy interface system (ANFIS) controller for static synchronous series compensator (SSSC) Protection in Medium Voltage (MV) Network by using a Varistor and Thyristors. By using the proposed novel ANFIS controller, system stability improved and the protection of SSSC also achieved here. In MV networks, voltage fluctuations occurs more due to connected load variations with time. So, voltage instability and efficiency of the system also reduced. To overcome these power quality drawbacks, SSSC controller introduced in MV networks with different conventional topologies. But the sudden change of connected loads causes SSSC damage. So, the protection of SSSC is also needed. So, in this research work introduced a novel ANFIS controller for SSSC protection in MV network by using Varistor and thyristor. Here also provide comparison between ANFIS controller performence with conventional PI controller. The entire proposed system implemented and tested in MATLAB/SIMULINK software.
