This study investigates the role of identity politics in shaping voting behavior among minority groups during the 2019 Indian General Elections. Identity politics, characterized by the mobilization of voters based on caste, religion, and ethnicity, has long been a critical factor in Indian elections. The 2019 elections, marked by intense political rhetoric and strategic targeting of minority groups, provide a compelling case for understanding how identity influences electoral decisions. Through a combination of theoretical analysis and review of previous election cycles, this research explores the strategies employed by political parties to engage minority voters and examines their impact on the election's outcome. The study reveals that identity politics played a significant role in determining the voting patterns of minority groups, with political parties leveraging social and cultural identities to secure electoral support. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the intersection between identity and politics in India, highlighting the continued relevance of identity-based appeals in shaping the country’s democratic processes.
