Abstract

The above lines quoted in the Raghuvansh epic indicate the equality of man and woman in the society. Indian culture is steeped in the tradition of Ardhanarishvara, meaning that women and men should have equal place in society. Nari is half of the basic pillar of society. This is the word, after hearing which many forms of the woman are visible on the retina. She is a mother, a sister, a sister and an ardhangini. It should be in any form but it is never backward in discharging its responsibilities. The female form is considered as 'Shakti'. In 'Manusmriti' it is said - 'Yatranarayastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Deity'. That is, where the woman is worshiped, there is the abode of the deity, here 'Pujaniya' means to give respect. In today's society, women have a strong position, they are not inferior to men in any form, many examples of which are present before us Indira Gandhi, Arundhati Roy, Sunita Williams, Kiran Bedi, Chanda Kochhar, Mary Kam, Ekta Kapoor , Sunita Narayan, Medha Patekar, Pratibha Patil, Jyotsna Suri, PV Sindhu, PT Usha, Mahadevi Verma, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan etc. are the major successful women of India. It is not possible to cite everyone's name due to the excess of numbers in the list of successful women.
