Abstract

The idea of ??virtue in the Indian thought-stream has been put on the practical plane, providing spiritual basis. In Indian philosophy of life, four objectives of human life have been stated - Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha. Moksha is related to the parlokik life while religion, artha and kama are related to the idyllic life. Religion, Artha and Kama are collectively referred to as 'Trigarga'. If seen, in this trilogy, 'Kama' means sensory pleasure is the main effort and for this, the meaning is 'Purusharth'. But it is known that here, work and meaning are valid only in Purusharth form. In this way, giving importance to the emotional side of human in Indian life, it has been kept under 'Dharma'.
