Abstract

The increasing demand for water resources necessitates the exploration of sustainable and eco-friendly water reuse techniques. This research investigates the feasibility of employing natural coagulation methods for the effective treatment and reuse of car wash wastewater. Utilizing natural coagulants such as Moringa oleifera seeds and chitosan, this study aims to develop an efficient and sustainable water treatment process. Laboratory experiments were conducted to evaluate the coagulation efficiency, removal rates of turbidity, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total suspended solids (TSS) under various conditions. The results demonstrate that natural coagulants can achieve significant reductions in turbidity, COD, and TSS, comparable to conventional chemical coagulants. Additionally, the study assesses the environmental impact, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of these natural coagulation techniques for potential implementation in car wash facilities. This research highlights the potential of natural coagulants as a viable alternative for sustainable water reuse, contributing to water conservation efforts and reducing the environmental footprint of car wash operations.
